SCMEA Conferences

Every year the South Carolina Marine Educators Association organizes a conference to highlight current trends in marine education. This year we will kick off with a Friday night at the Beaufort Shrimp Festival. Join us on Saturday morning for an inspiring Keynote from author Kevin Kurtz followed by numerous sessions about Seashells, Oysters, Hydrothermal Vent Biota, Ocean Acidification and How to get your programs funded!  There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Gullah/Geechee Community of the Sea Islands through an interactive tour.  We are adding a new session called "Resource Roundabout" on Saturday afternoon where you can learn about lots of resources available in South Carolina.   Then, of course, on Saturday evening is the Annual dinner with a fabulous Silent and Live Auction -- you know how much fun THAT is!!
